– the procedure for contacting a military unit to consider and resolve the issue of nominating a candidate for the title of Hero of Ukraine;
– processing of social payments (burial assistance to relatives of the deceased Defender, assistance to family members of the deceased serviceman, assistance from international organizations);
– registration and recalculation of pensions (in particular, pensions due to the loss of a breadwinner);
– receiving benefits (in particular, for payment of housing and communal services, scholarships for children of deceased servicemen, etc.);
– establishing facts of legal significance: the death of a serviceman whose body is in the occupied territory, family relations, living together as one family, paternity, being dependent on the deceased serviceman;
– solving other legal problems, including through litigation
By law, the following are members of the families of deceased Defenders of Ukraine:
– parents;
– one of the spouses who has not remarried, regardless of whether he or she is receiving a pension or not;
– children who do not have (and did not have) their own families;
– children who have their own families but became disabled before reaching adulthood;
– children whose parents are both dead or missing;
– dependents of the deceased (deceased), who are paid a pension in this regard.
