
The award was presented to the parents of the deceased soldier, Iryna and Serhiy Churayev, by the head of the Chuguiv RTCC and SP, Colonel Oleksandr Kurichenkov, together with the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva.
Unfortunately, war takes the best… Oleksandr Churaev, at the call of his heart, went to defend his native land from the Russian occupiers and gave his life for Ukraine. He served in the 132nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion. He died on August 26, 2023 in the area of the settlement of Robotyne, Zaporizhia region, during a breakthrough of the occupiers' defense line. Two days before his death, Oleksandr was awarded the medal "For a Saved Life" from the President of Ukraine.
The reconnaissance fighter, soldier Alexander Churaev, was buried in Chuguiv on the Alley of Memory, with military honors and a triple military salute.
The Order "For Courage" of the 3rd degree (posthumously) was awarded to soldier Oleksandr Churaev in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 688/2023 of October 12, 2023 "for personal courage shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless performance of military duty.".
Oleksandr Churaev is a resident of the city of Chuguyiv, born on August 10, 1987, graduated from Chuguyiv comprehensive school No. 8 in 2004, lived in the Aviator microdistrict. Oleksandr Churaev is survived by his parents and younger sister.
The head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva, expressed her condolences to the parents of the deceased soldier, Iryna and Serhiy Churayev, and assured the family of the fallen Hero of comprehensive support from the community leadership and the military administration.
Of course, no awards can bring back the fallen defenders, but they will remind us of their heroic deeds, and their memory will be in the hearts of each of us. We must remember who thanks to whom we live on a free land and thanks to whom our children will grow up not in a foreign land, but in Ukraine. Eternal honor to the Heroes of the Heavenly Army…
