5 cases of children falling from windows over the weekend in Ukraine – 1 child died: Juvenile Police urge parents to immediately check the safety of windows!

Behind these numbers are unspeakable pain and tragedies that could have been avoided. Last weekend alone, 5 cases of children falling from windows were recorded in Ukraine. Unfortunately, one child died from injuries sustained…

The onset of heat brings this terrible danger every year. The Juvenile Police once again emphasizes and begs every parent: remember, a mosquito net does not save! It only creates the illusion of a strong barrier, but is unable to withstand the weight of even the smallest child.

What you need to do right now to protect your child:

  • Install special safety hardware. Use handles with locks, child locks or limiter cables that prevent the window from opening completely.
  • Move furniture away from windows. Sofas, armchairs, chairs, and beds should not be placed near the windowsill so that a child cannot easily climb onto it.
  • Ventilate safely. If you don't have special latches, use only vents for ventilation or open windows in vertical tilt (tilt) mode.
  • Don't leave your children unattended, even for a moment, while you go into another room or the kitchen. It only takes a few seconds for a toddler to climb onto a windowsill.
  • Don't show your child how to open windows. Toddlers are very quick to copy adults' actions.

The lives and health of children are a shared responsibility. Be careful, check your windows today, and share this warning with your loved ones.
