Olena Pchilka's patterns unite Ukraine: Chuhuyiv community joins all-Ukrainian cultural action

On the occasion of Ukrainian Statehood Day, a landmark event took place, which became a symbol of the cultural unity of Ukrainian communities. As part of the national project "Side by Side: United Communities", a creative bridge was implemented between the cities of Zvyahel and Chuhuiv.

This important initiative began with an online meeting called «Patterns of Olena Pchilka in a Modern Performance,» organized by scholar Yulia Petrenko with the participation of craftswoman Lyudmila Kizyak. It was then that the idea of creating a symbol of unity of Ukrainian communities was born — an ancient 24-meter homespun hemp cloth was transferred from Zvyahel to Chuhuyiv.

Having accepted this unique relic from the director of the Kosach-Dragomanov family museum, Lyudmila Gamma, the director of the Image Cultural Center, Yana Vashchuk, handed over the canvas to the Chuguiv craftsmen to continue their joint work. Despite constant air raids, difficult security conditions, and hostile shelling, the craftswoman from the Chuguiv community, Olga Gridneva, recreated an authentic Zvyagaelsky ornament on the canvas. In every stitch, she put love for Ukraine, respect for our history, and unshakable faith in Victory.

The project was implemented with the support of the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Halyna Minaeva, with the active participation of the Chuguiv Territorial Social Service Center and the entire caring community of the city.

Now the historical canvas has returned to its native Zvyahel, where it will be preserved as a symbol of the unity of the Ukrainian people, the spiritual continuity of generations, the invincibility and unity of Ukraine. This towel has become not just a work of art, but a living testament to the fact that Ukrainian culture is able to unite hearts even in the most difficult times.

Olena Pchilka's patterns continue to unite Ukraine today, reminding us that our strength lies in memory, traditions, and joint work for the future.
