The Constitution of Ukraine is the foundation of our statehood

On June 28, 1996, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Constitution of Ukraine - a document that enshrined the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and democratic path of development of the state.

The Constitution defines the main principles on which Ukraine is based:

  • a person, his life, honor and dignity are the highest social value;
  • Ukraine is a sovereign, independent, democratic, social and legal state;
  • the only source of power in Ukraine is the people;
  • The protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine is the business of the entire Ukrainian people.

Today, in the conditions of a full-scale war, these norms are of particular importance. Ukrainians are defending not only the territory of the state, but also the right to live in a free, independent and democratic Ukraine.

For the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Ukraine, information materials have been prepared that remind us of the importance of the Fundamental Law and its role in the life of the state and every citizen.
