Chuguyiv Primary Health Care Center will participate in the "Health Screening 40+" program«

The Chuguiv Primary Health Care Center will participate in the "Health Screening 40+" program. The corresponding application has already been sent to the National Health Service of Ukraine. If it is positively reviewed (and all the prerequisites for this are in place), residents of the Chuguiv community will be able to contact the center and receive services provided by the program.

Let us remind you that the essence of the government program "Health Screening 40+" is to ensure that people over the age of 40 can undergo regular basic medical examinations for free for the early detection of the most dangerous diseases.

The program is primarily aimed at identifying:

  • cardiovascular diseases;
  • type 2 diabetes;
  • mental health problems.

How it will work:

  • Ukrainians aged 40+ apply to a medical institution that works in the program;
  • The medical facility will conduct questionnaires, measure key indicators, analyzes, and assess risks;
  • After the examination, the person will receive recommendations or referrals for additional treatment or diagnostics.

The main idea is not to treat a disease when it is already in a serious state, but to find the problem as early as possible, when it is easier to control or prevent.

The program does not provide for an arbitrary choice of examinations desired by the patient, but rather a basic list of screening tests and indicators clearly defined by the state.

The logic is this:

  • there is a standardized set of tests for certain ages and risk groups;
  • a family doctor or medical facility conducts these examinations;
  • If risks or suspicions of a disease are identified during screening, then the person is referred for additional, more specific tests or examinations.

That is, screening is not "any tests you want," but a system of early detection of the most common and dangerous diseases according to uniform rules.

Basic screening now includes the following examinations and tests:

  • blood pressure measurement;
  • pulse and heart rate;
  • weight, height, body mass index, waist circumference;
  • questionnaire regarding lifestyle and risk factors (smoking, alcohol, physical activity, heredity);
  • assessment of symptoms of cardiovascular disease and mental health;
  • blood test for sugar level/glycated hemoglobin (diabetes);
  • lipid profile (cholesterol and blood fats);
  • as indicated - ECG, additional kidney function tests and blood pressure monitoring.

At the same time, the program does NOT automatically provide:

  • MRI;
  • CT;
  • "Whole body" ultrasound;
  • full check-up;
  • consultations of all specialists.

That is, this is the basic preventive screening for the most common risks after 40 years of age.
