Murrain – a dangerous disease that leads to the death of domestic ungulates and can also be transmitted to humans.
Given that a case of foot-and-mouth disease was recently recorded in a neighboring country, and this disease has not been recorded in Ukraine since 1988, we ask pet owners to be especially careful and take appropriate measures as provided for in the Instructions for the Prevention and Elimination of Foot-and-Mouth Disease in Animals, approved by order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy dated August 7, 2017 No. 431.
Clinical signs of FMD include vesicles and lesions in the mouth, udder, and limbs, as well as salivation, lameness, reduced milk production, fever, etc.

Owners of cows, goats, pigs, and other ungulates can protect their livestock from foot-and-mouth disease infection by following simple biosecurity rules.
After all, an animal can become infected with foot-and-mouth disease from another wild or domestic animal (for newly purchased livestock, a 30-day quarantine must be ensured).
The foot-and-mouth disease virus can also be transmitted through feed, equipment, transport, footwear and clothing of personnel, and even be carried by the wind.
