In order to prevent accidents and preserve the lives and health of citizens, we emphasize the need to follow safety rules when staying in forests, forest belts, and open areas where there is an increased risk of discovering explosive objects.
Due to military operations on the territory of Ukraine, unexploded ammunition, mines, shells, and other dangerous objects that pose a threat to people's lives and health may remain in forests and forest belts.
For personal safety purposes, we recommend:
• travel only on proven paths and roads;
• avoid visiting little-known or unexplored areas;
• do not stray from the beaten path;
• do not touch unknown objects left in the forest;
• do not light a fire in untested places.
Algorithm of actions in case of detection of a suspicious or explosive object:
- Stop immediately and do not approach the suspicious object.
- Stay calm, warn those nearby about the possible danger.
- Move to a safe distance (at least 100–300 meters), moving back the same way you came.
- Mark the location of the discovery (if possible, without approaching) with available tools or landmarks.
- Immediately notify the relevant services: by calling 101 (SES) or 102 (police).
It is strictly forbidden:
• touch, move or disassemble the object;
• cover it, fill it with water or pour liquids over it;
• use radio communication devices nearby (a telephone can trigger an explosion in some cases);
• independently neutralize the find.
Remember: even a seemingly safe object can pose a deadly threat. Your caution is the key to saving lives!
