Chuhuiv community selected to participate in GIZ project: the city will develop a concept for the sustainability of the central microdistrict

The Chuguiv community has been selected to participate in a project supported by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), within the framework of which a sustainability concept for one of the Chuguiv neighborhoods will be developed.

What does this mean for residents? In today’s climate, cities are forced to respond quickly to new challenges, from housing and infrastructure damage to climate change and social processes. Therefore, it is important not only to rebuild, but also to plan development so that areas are safe, comfortable and resilient to crises.

As part of their participation in the project, experts, together with the community, will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the city's central neighborhood. They will study:

  • infrastructure condition and vulnerabilities;
  • ease of movement and accessibility;
  • green and public spaces;
  • features of building and development of the territory.

Based on this, a list of specific steps will be formed - from priority measures to medium-term projects, which can be included in the community's strategic documents.

The head of the Chuhuiv city military administration, Halyna Minaeva, said that participation in the new project for the Chuhuiv community is an opportunity to receive international expert support and develop practical solutions that will make the urban space safer, more comfortable, and more sustainable for every resident.

The Chuhuiv community is grateful to its long-standing partners – the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) – for a new, extremely relevant and useful stage of cooperation.
