A cyclone is approaching the Kharkiv region from central Ukraine, bringing difficult weather conditions. According to weather forecasters, on Tuesday, January 27, around 11-12 a.m., precipitation in the form of freezing rain will begin. By the evening, the bad weather will cover the entire territory of the region.
During the day, the air temperature will range from -4 to -8 degrees, which will create a high risk of ice formation on roads.
On Wednesday night and the morning of January 28, precipitation will turn into wet snow, and the temperature will rise to -1...-5 degrees.
In this regard, the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Kharkiv region urges drivers to be as careful as possible, and if possible, to refrain from traveling during periods of worsening weather conditions.
Special attention is paid to the movement of heavy vehicles. Drivers of such vehicles must have all the necessary special equipment for driving in winter conditions, including anti-skid chains.
In order to prevent a complete stoppage of traffic and the occurrence of emergency situations, preventive partial restrictions or temporary closure of heavy transport traffic on certain sections of highways in the Kharkiv region are possible.
The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Kharkiv region asks all road users to be attentive, adhere to the speed limit and traffic rules, and ensure unhindered passage for road vehicles and specialized vehicles with orange flashing lights, which will operate in an enhanced mode.
