As part of the "Caring Nearby" campaign, initiated by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, a meeting was held in Chuhuiv with the participation of veterans, their families, representatives of local government, the Department of Veterans Affairs of the KHOVA, the veterans' space "Side by Side", social services, and specialists in supporting war veterans and demobilized persons.
The event began with a pleasant moment - veteran defender from Chuhuyiv Yevhen Ovcharenko was presented with a modern electric wheelchair from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the charitable organization "Nezlamna", the veteran space "Side by Side" and the Dutch company Sunrise Medical HCM BV.
Gifts from the head of the Chuguiv MVA to the veteran, who is celebrating his birthday today, were presented by Deputy Mayor and Head of the Executive Committee, Lyudmila Makarenko.
During the meeting, the participants received explanations regarding the implementation of veteran policy in the region, social protection mechanisms, opportunities for psychological rehabilitation and medical support, in particular under the "Affordable Medicines" program.
Information was also provided on the protection of the rights of families of military personnel, missing persons and prisoners of war, opportunities for vocational training, employment and pension provision for veterans.
At the end of the meeting, her clients received individual consultations and assistance in completing the necessary applications.
According to Deputy Mayor and Head of the Executive Committee, Lyudmila Makarenko, such field events ensure constant dialogue between the authorities, social services, and veteran communities, which allows us to promptly respond to the needs of our defenders and improve the quality of support.
