Dear liquidators of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, dear compatriots!
Today, December 14, Ukraine and the world honor the courage, sacrifice, and heroism of those who stopped the invisible enemy – radiation, and saved our country and Europe from a much greater catastrophe. This date, symbolizing the completion of the construction of the sarcophagus over the destroyed fourth power unit, is a day of deep gratitude and undying memory.
Hundreds of thousands of brave men – military, rescuers, doctors, engineers – took the path of danger to stop the consequences of the greatest man-made disaster in the history of mankind. They worked where every step could be the last, but they did not retreat, fulfilled their duty and saved the lives of millions.
Today, we bow our heads with deep respect to those whose courage, self-sacrifice, and fortitude have become a shield for the entire country and the world, and we remember with sadness those who are no longer with us. Their feat is an example of sacrifice and civic responsibility that will forever remain in our memory.
On behalf of the entire community, I express my sincere gratitude to all the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident. We will always remember your feat!
I wish you, dear liquidators, good health, longevity, family comfort and peace.
With deep respect, faith in the Victory of Ukraine and our bright future,
Head of the Chuguev City Military Administration Galina MINAYEVA
