Dear residents of the Chuhuyiv community!

On the eve of the New Year holidays, we remind you of the need to comply with environmental legislation when harvesting and purchasing coniferous plantations.

In accordance with the requirements of the Forest Code of Ukraine and current laws in the field of environmental protection, as well as in accordance with the letter of the State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine dated 04.12.2024, state control over the prevention of illegal felling of coniferous trees has been strengthened in the pre-New Year period.

We ask forestry enterprises, forest users, markets and trading platforms to strictly comply with the requirements of the law and sell Christmas trees exclusively in specially designated places. All coniferous plantings and products made from spruce branches must have appropriate documents of legal origin.

We remind you that illegal felling, transportation or sale of coniferous trees entails administrative liability in accordance with Articles 64, 65 and 88-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. Fines can range from 6 to 300 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, depending on the type of violation.

We call on all business entities to strictly comply with the requirements of the law, and community residents to purchase Christmas trees only with electronic marking and supporting documents. Let's not support illegal deforestation!

Let's save our forests together!
