Together with the entire country, with great respect and sadness, the Chuhuiv community celebrates the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, who gave their lives for the independence, statehood, and territorial integrity of our state.
August 29 is a special day for the Chuguiv community, because 136 of our compatriots heroically died defending their homeland from Russian invaders.
Today's memorable date was established in 2019. It is connected with the tragic events near Ilovaisk in 2014, when during the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the "green corridor" the Russian occupiers violated the agreements and shot our soldiers. The symbol of this day was the sunflower - after all, it was through sunflower fields that Ukrainian heroes passed under bullets and shells.
Today, the head of the Chuguiv city military administration, Galina Minaeva, together with the head of the Chuguiv district military administration, Serhiy Lobodenko, representatives of military units, the National Police of Ukraine, and the State Emergency Service, honored the heavenly heroes on the Alley of Memory of the Fallen Soldiers. We will never forget any of them, their lives, and their feat!

Many of our compatriots – educators, military personnel, volunteers and, of course, representatives of our creative community – contribute to the perpetuation of the memory of those who fell in the liberation war. Today, Galina Minaeva, together with the military personnel, visited the exhibition «Chuguiv Community. Damaged. Unbreakable…»
Its authors, members of the Creative Association of Artists and Masters of Chuguev and teachers of the Chuguev Children's Art School named after I.Yu. Repin, in each of their works express the pain of the residents of our community from the destruction that it has been constantly experiencing for almost four years. Each picture literally breaks the heart, but at the same time mobilizes for the fight. The fight for our peaceful future, for which the fallen defenders gave their lives...
