
Maksym was born on September 16, 2000 in the village of Trostyanets, Slavutych district, Khmelnytskyi region. In 2004, he moved with his family to the village of Kochetok. In 2015, he graduated from the 9th grade of Kochetok secondary school and entered the Chuguyiv vocational lyceum. After graduating from the lyceum, he received the specialty of a pastry chef.

In November 2018, Chuguyiv Regional Military District was called up for military service. He underwent professional military training as part of the 201st Training Center for Engineering Troops and Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops within the structure of the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After receiving professional training, he signed a contract for military service with the command of the 703rd Separate Operational Support Regiment.


Since 2024, the regiment has been expanded to the level of a separate brigade of support for the engineering troops of the Land Forces of Ukraine. From the first day of service until the last day of his life, Maksym remained in the defense of the country. He was a participant in the ATO/JFO. He served as a senior sapper of the 1st engineer-sapper division of the 3rd engineer-sapper platoon of the engineer-sapper company of the 1st engineer battalion of the 703rd separate support brigade.





Circumstances of death:
On July 12, 2025, the unit where Maxim served received a combat mission to provide operational support to the troops that were holding back the onslaught of Russian troops in the Pokrovsk direction. On the Pavlohrad-Pokrovsk highway between the settlements of Mykolaivka and Dmytrivka, Synelnikovo district, Dnipropetrovsk region, the military vehicle in which Maxim was traveling was involved in a traffic accident, as a result of which he received injuries incompatible with life.
Almost seven years after he stood up for Ukraine, the defender - Redko Maksym Grigorovich - returned to his small homeland on the shield forever. On July 17, 2025, the village of Kochetok met the Hero's funeral cortege with a lively corridor. Farewell to Maksym took place in the courtyard of the forestry college in the village of Kochetok on July 17, 2025. The funeral and burial ceremony of the Hero took place at the Kochetok cemetery.
The defender is survived by his mother, two younger sisters, and a brother.
For personal courage and heroism shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 113/2025 dated March 7, 2022, he was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree, by Order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine dated October 11, 2023 No. 2382 - the "Golden Cross" award, the award of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Breastplate "Participant in the ATO", the "War Veteran" badge and the medal of the All-Ukrainian Association "Krayina" - "To the Unbreakable Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War".
