On July 15, 2025, on Ukrainian Statehood Day, a touching event took place in Chuhuiv - the unveiling of a memorial plaque in honor of our fellow countryman, fallen defender, Captain Vitaliy Zaporizhsky.
Before the start of the full-scale war, Vitaliy worked at the Chuguiv branch of PJSC "Kharkivgaz". Colleagues decided to honor the memory of the fallen soldier by installing a memorial plaque on the facade of the enterprise's administrative building.
Vitaliy Zaporizhsky joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, went through a combat path and gave his life for the freedom and future of our country. He served in the 125th separate battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces as the head of the headquarters' electronic warfare group. He died on April 17, 2025 while performing a combat mission in the Kupyansk direction.
During the ceremony of unveiling the memorial plaque, colleagues, family, and friends remembered Vitaliy Zaporizhsky as a responsible employee, a loyal comrade, and a kind and sincere person.
We must remember everyone who gave their lives for Ukraine. The names of the Heroes must be inscribed in the history of the community. It is thanks to them that Ukraine holds on and will definitely win.
