Yesterday, our community gathered to pay its last respects to the warrior who laid down his life on the altar of Ukraine's freedom. Farewell to the Defender of Ukraine was a day of deep sorrow, but at the same time a day of pride for the indomitable son of our land.
From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Alexey Chubukin did not hesitate - he took up arms and went to defend what was most precious: his native land, his family, the future of his children. He served as a grenade launcher in a mechanized battalion on the front line. His comrades-in-arms remember him as a brave soldier, a reliable comrade who was always ready to come to the rescue.
From his brother's report, it is known that at the cost of his own life, Oleksiy tried to save his captured accomplices, who were being targeted by enemy machine guns.
Since August 15, 2022, he was considered missing in the area of the settlement of Mar'inka, Pokrovsky district, Donetsk region. Almost three years after his death, Alexey returned to his small homeland, the village of Kochetok, on a shield, where he was buried with honors in the local cemetery next to his parents, who died without knowing the fate of their son...
Alexey Chubukin is survived by his wife, son, and brother.
