On May 20-21, the head of the Chuguiv city military administration, Galina Minaeva, participated in the Second Swedish-Ukrainian Municipal Partnership Forum, which took place in the Swedish city of Lidingö. This trip was made possible with the support of Cities4cities, SALAR, Polaris.

The main achievement of this visit for the Chuguiv community is the signing of a partnership agreement between Chuguiv and the Danderyd municipality.

Galina Minaeva reported on the details of her participation in the forum on her Telegram channel:

– The forum is not just an official program. It is a lively dialogue about how cooperation at the municipal level can yield real results. It is nice that this cooperation can be mutually beneficial, because the Swedes are really interested in the Ukrainian experience. One of the key discussions was a panel on why Swedish communities want to learn from Ukrainian ones, in particular, in the areas of digitalization, security, infrastructure functioning in crisis conditions, and involving citizens in solving community problems.

I was very pleased to observe with what interest and respect our Swedish partners listened to my report on the restoration of the infrastructure of the Chuhuiv community according to the "Better than before" model.

For our part, we have something to learn from the Swedes and what to implement in our territories. In particular, the experience of the hosts in the so-called ecological economy and waste management was very useful for all Ukrainian participants of the forum. My colleagues and I were very impressed by the visit to the Bromma waste processing plant and the presentation of the waste collection system in the Stockholm region.

In short, we have a huge space for establishing partnerships, and what makes me especially happy – mutually beneficial relationships.

I am sincerely grateful to our Swedish friends for their help and support. Today we are building an equal partnership that will make both us and our friends stronger tomorrow.
