On May 15, a training on "Case management in the field of child rights protection, in particular in working with family forms of upbringing" was held at the Campus Youth Center as part of the UNICEF project "Strengthening alternative care through support for the reform of better care in the Kharkiv region.".
The event was attended by representatives of children's services, the social services center, the inclusive resource center, doctors, specialists from the charitable foundation "Volunteers: Adults for Children", as well as social educators who work with orphans and children deprived of parental care.
The goal of the training is to deepen participants' knowledge of the practical application of the "case management" approach - a personalized model of support for families with children, which involves analyzing the situation, selecting effective intervention methods, engaging family and community resources, as well as monitoring results and assessing the effectiveness of the assistance provided.
During the training, participants:
- worked out the key concept of case management;
- updated knowledge about family and community resources and ways to engage them;
- became familiar with effective methods of analyzing situations and using various forms and methods of work in the process of handling a case;
- practiced practical skills in responding to situations of varying levels of complexity.
The knowledge and skills gained will help professionals more effectively support families and prevent the removal of children from the family environment.
The UNICEF project "Strengthening Alternative Care through Support for Better Care Reform in Kharkiv Oblast" is implemented by the Volunteers: Adults for Children Foundation in cooperation with the Children's Service of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (OVA) and the Kharkiv Regional Center for Social Services with financial support from the Government of Ireland Irish Aid and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) through the state development bank KfW.
