«Keep this money for yourself» is a nationwide campaign launched on May 1, 2025 by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, and the Danish Energy Agency. The main idea of the campaign is that energy efficiency is not a complex, expensive «luxury,» but affordable, profitable solutions that save money and improve the quality of life.

The goal of the initiative is to demonstrate real-world examples and benefits of smart energy consumption. From obvious actions that can be taken right now without any extra effort, to "advanced" programs implemented with state support.

Recent studies have shown that 721% of Ukrainians are trying to implement energy saving principles in their daily lives.

At the same time, 581% of respondents noted a lack of available information about energy efficiency measures and examples of their implementation.

«Over the 3 years of war, Ukrainians have realized the critical importance of energy efficiency. For the most part, energy efficiency is not always about complex technical solutions, but about our ordinary everyday lives. Even small changes in our behavior with an emphasis on energy efficiency can yield tangible results. Using energy-efficient lamps, thermostats, or class «A» household appliances, or even just the correct settings of a boiler or freezer, can save money and keep it in the family budget. Therefore, our task is to talk about this in simple, convincing words so that the principle of «energy efficiency first» becomes our Life Style in all directions, starting from a small Ukrainian family to communities and the country as a whole,» comments Hanna Zamazeyeva, Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency.

One of the partners of the initiative was the Danish Energy Agency.

«Denmark is one of the European leaders in energy efficiency and a country that steadfastly supports Ukraine. The Danish Energy Agency has accumulated considerable experience in energy saving, which we are eager to share. We hope that thanks to this campaign, Ukrainians will discover the real financial benefits of energy efficiency. Moreover, smart energy consumption helps ensure the sustainable operation of the energy system and increase the resilience of Ukrainian society,» concluded Iben Møller Søndergaard, Deputy Director General of the Danish Energy Agency.
