With the onset of the fishing season, a large number of residents of the district choose places near water bodies for recreation. However, it should be remembered that fishing is strictly prohibited within the protection zones of 35-110 kV overhead lines (OHL) located near rivers, ponds or lakes or crossing them.
Fishermen often do not pay attention to power lines that pass over water bodies and do not pay attention to the fact that if they approach the fishing rods at an unacceptable distance from the live parts or if their tackle gets caught on the wire, they can be exposed to deadly voltage, which can threaten their lives and the lives of people who are nearby at that time.
JSC "Kharkivoblenergo" reports that for 35 and 110 kV overhead lines, in accordance with clause 7 of the "Rules for the Protection of Electric Networks", the protection zone is established in the form of a land plot and airspace, limited by vertical planes, which are distant on both sides of the line from the extreme wires, provided that they are not deviated, at a distance of 15 meters for 35 kV overhead lines and 20 meters for 110 kV overhead lines.
