
On April 23, a meeting was held in the Chuhuiv community for foster parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, guardians, and foster carers on the topic: "Services around the child: facilitation and coordination. Development of children of different ages.".
The event was organized within the framework of the UNICEF project "Strengthening Alternative Care through Support for Better Care Reform in Kharkiv Region.".
The meeting was moderated by an authoritative specialist in the field of pediatric medicine - Olena Riga, pediatrician, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, international trainer in pediatric palliative care, member of IDPA and ICPCN.
The main issues discussed during the meeting:
- Accessibility of medical, rehabilitation and palliative services for children;
- Establishing effective coordination between different types of services;
- Online counseling and telemedicine opportunities;
- Peculiarities of development of children of different ages and the needs that arise in this process.
The event participants received not only comprehensive answers to their questions, but also practical recommendations on how to create an atmosphere of support, trust, and acceptance in the family - a key factor for the harmonious development of a child and his or her emotional well-being.
The UNICEF project "Strengthening Alternative Care through Support for Better Care Reform in Kharkiv Oblast" is implemented by the Volunteers: Adults for Children Foundation together with the Children's Service of the Kharkiv Oblast Administration and the Kharkiv Regional Center for Social Services with financial support from the Government of Ireland Irish Aid and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) through the state development bank KfW.
