The Main Department of the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection in the Kharkiv region announces: in order to prevent the spread of the dangerous disease rabies among wild animals, a planned campaign for oral immunization of wild carnivores will begin in the Chuguiv district from April 21 to 23, 2025, according to the bait distribution schedule.
The distribution of baits with the vaccine will take place by ground distribution on the area of forest and hunting grounds. After eating the bait, the animal receives a dose of vaccine, which forms immunity to rabies.
The bait is safe for humans and animals, looks like small briquettes the size of a matchbox, smells like meat and bone meal, and inside is a jelly-like capsule with a rabies vaccine.
It is not recommended to touch the bait. In case of accidental contact with the bait, wash your hands thoroughly with soap.
Do not try to remove the baits from their distribution locations.
Oral immunization of wild carnivores is an important measure to ensure the epidemiological well-being of our region and protect public health.
