Despite the strict ban on burning dry grass and reeds, the rescue service "101" constantly receives reports of burning deadwood in the Kharkiv region. In the spring, when dry and warm weather sets in, their number increases every day.
Some fires occur due to hostilities, shelling, but also due to the recklessness of citizens who, despite numerous warnings in the media, continue to restore order on their land plots and adjacent territories by burning dry wood.
Unfortunately, people who start fires without following safety rules often become victims themselves. Trying to prevent the spread of flames, they often get burned, and sometimes it all ends in tragedy.
In addition to the danger to the health and life of people, birds, and animals, burning grass and garbage threatens residential buildings, outbuildings, fences, etc. Also, fires in ecosystems can damage power lines and lead to emergency outages.
The Fire Safety and Civil Protection Service of JSC "Kharkivoblenergo" urges residents of the Kharkiv region not to experiment with flammable substances during the fire-dangerous dry period! Do not be indifferent if you notice smoke, smoldering or weak burning!
Please note: it is easy to put out a grass fire at the very beginning - you just need to pour a bucket of water on the fire or cover it with earth.
Do not burn garbage, especially in dry, windy weather! Do not burn reeds, dry grass, and stubble, and do not allow children to play with matches and lighters!
Remember: failure to comply with fire safety rules can lead to irreparable tragedy.
In the event of a fire, call "101" immediately!
