And again, sad news came to the Chuhuiv community: our fellow countryman Mykhailo Slobodyan died in the war. On March 26, 2025, the Hero who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine was laid to rest in Chuhuiv.
Slobodyan Mykhailo Myronovych was born on June 17, 1981 in the village of Zalissya, in the Chortkiv region. He served his military service in Chuhuiv, after which he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He got married and lived with his family there.
He was called up for military service upon mobilization on September 14, 2024. He served as a grenade launcher in the airmobile battalion of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade.
Died on March 20, 2025 in Kursk as a result of artillery shelling, receiving injuries incompatible with life.
The deceased soldier is survived by his mother, wife, daughter, and son.
Mykhailo Slobodyan was buried in Chuhuiv on the Alley of Memory with military honors.
