The State Employment Service encourages entrepreneurs to hire internally displaced persons. For each such employee, compensation is provided equal to the minimum wage, which currently amounts to 8,000 UAH. The total duration of such a service is 3 months. However, in the case of employment of IDPs with disabilities, the payment period is doubled and amounts to 6 months.

The program of financial compensation for employment of IDPs during martial law in Ukraine was created by the Government in April 2022 to enable Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the war to find work and financial stability in their new place of residence. Such payments reduce the financial burden on employers' businesses and provide additional support for vulnerable categories of citizens.

To take advantage of the compensation program, employers need to employ IDPs under an employment contract, including part-time work. No earlier than 5 calendar days, but no later than 6 months from the date of employment, an application for compensation should be submitted to the employment center at its location or through the Diya portal and wait for the results of the application review.
