Kharkiv OVA intensifies work in the field of protecting the civilian population from emergencies

Last week, a training session was held for heads of civil defense units of local governments and local authorities on protecting the population and territories from emergencies in peacetime and during special periods. The training session was organized by the Civil Defense Department of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration at the initiative of the Head of the Civil Defense Department, Oleg Synegubov, and with the support of the Humanitarian Coordination Center.

Civil defense specialists from the Chuguiv District, including a representative of the Chuguiv City Council, participated in the classes.

During the three-day training, specialists from the Civil Protection Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv region, the Educational and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety of Kharkiv region, teachers from the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine and the Lviv State University of Life Safety provided the necessary up-to-date knowledge on the organization of civil protection measures in local authorities and local self-government. They paid attention to the issues of providing the population with protective structures and shelters, interaction with mine action operators, the creation and functioning of fire and rescue units to ensure local voluntary fire protection. Aspects of the psychological state of civil protection specialists and protocols for assistance in stressful situations were separately discussed.

Many thanks to the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov, Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Yevhen Ivanov, Director of the Civil Protection Department of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Ivan Sokol for organizing this event. After all, improving knowledge and exchanging information contributes to improving the system of work on organizing population security measures in the territory of communities.
