The functioning of the homeless registration point and the heating point are important elements of the social protection system in the community. Thanks to their work, it is possible not only to provide emergency assistance to homeless people, but also to promote their reintegration into society.
The territorial social service center (provision of social services) plays an important role in providing assistance to people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. One of the main areas of activity is the functioning of a homeless registration point and a heating point.
The homeless registration center operates on the basis of the territorial center and performs a number of important functions:
- registration of homeless citizens for the further provision of social services to them;
- assistance in restoring documents, processing pensions and social benefits;
- legal advice on returning housing rights;
- assistance in placement in rehabilitation centers and reintegration homes;
- coordination with medical institutions to provide necessary medical care.
During periods of severe frosts, the issue of preventing hypothermia and freezing among homeless people is particularly acute. In order to provide temporary shelter, a heating station was organized, which operates at the address: 19 Gvardiyska Street.
Services provided at the heating station:
- the opportunity to warm up;
- provision of hot drinks and food;
- information and advisory support regarding obtaining social assistance and rehabilitation.
In conditions of low temperatures, employees of the territorial center regularly conduct social patrol raids. They visit places where homeless people usually stay, informing them about the possibility of using heating points, getting hot tea and food.
