
A meeting for foster parents, foster parents, and guardians was held in the Chuhuiv community, where they discussed issues of children's mental health.
The lecture was given by Vadym Mangubi, a child psychiatrist, psychotherapist, doctor of the highest category, Candidate of Medical Sciences, and member of the European Psychiatric Association.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting:
▪ Types and signs of mental disorders in children.
▪ When is diagnostics necessary and what information does it provide?.
▪ Treatment and prevention methods.
▪ What is the difference between a psychologist, psychiatrist and psychotherapist?.
▪ What should parents do if their child has a mental disorder?.
«"Mental disorders in children are an important topic that requires careful attention and a comprehensive approach. Timely detection and treatment helps the child develop and successfully adapt in society," emphasized Vadym Mangubi.
Participants not only received useful information, but also had the opportunity to ask questions and receive professional advice.
The event was organized as part of the UNICEF project "Strengthening Alternative Care through Support for Better Care Reform in Kharkiv Oblast" by the Volunteers: Adults for Children Foundation together with the Children's Service of the Kharkiv Oblast and the Kharkiv Regional Center for Social Services with financial support from the Government of Ireland Irish Aid and the German Government through the German Development Bank (KFW).
