With the support of the Head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Halyna Minaeva, and the Head of the Department of Economic Development and Entrepreneurship of the Chuguiv City Council, Valentyna Volotskova, in October 2024, a charitable project was launched on the territory of the Chuguiv City Territorial Community by the Food and Agricultural Organization FAO Ukraine, the French government, and their partner NGO "Kharkiv Regional Advisory Center".
The project's goal is to improve the food security of rural families and reduce their dependence on food aid.
The project was aimed at people with different categories of vulnerability:
- families of internally displaced persons;
- families with elderly people;
- persons with disabilities;
- pregnant women and women with children under 3 years old;
- families that have lost a breadwinner due to war or with reduced income due to their loss;
- families where members were injured or disappeared during the war;
- large families with three or more children under 18 years of age.
A total of 580 rural families from the Chuhuiv community who keep farm animals and are engaged in agriculture became participants in the project, and in early February 2025 received cash assistance in the amount of $150 (at the NBU exchange rate) for the purchase of animal feed. Now residents are buying feed for their animals and are happy to show off the goods they purchased and their wonderful animals.
All project participants sincerely thank the leadership of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, the Directorate of the Food and Agricultural Organization FAO Ukraine, the French government, and their partner NGO "Kharkiv Regional Advisory Center" represented by Halyna Gaponyk for the assistance provided to rural residents for keeping their animals, and hope for further assistance and support.
