On January 17, representatives of children's services, the social services center, and other specialists working with family forms of upbringing in the Chuhuiv community participated in a training on the topic: «"Redirection as a method of social work in supporting family forms of upbringing. Redirection maps in different situations.".
The training was held as part of the UNICEF project "Strengthening Alternative Care through Support for Better Care Reform in Kharkiv Region.".
Training objective: Help communities develop a referral map that will be an effective tool for supporting parents of family-based child care. It will contain a clear algorithm of actions and contacts of services and organizations that provide assistance in various life situations.
The trainers at the event were: Natalia Vartsabyuk, expert in advanced training of specialists in children's affairs and social services, and Larisa Liverets, specialist in information support for family forms of upbringing.
During the training, participants:
- Updated knowledge about redirection as one of the methods of social work in supporting family forms of upbringing at the community level.
- We focused on engaging community resources and their place in the process of supporting family forms of upbringing.
- We have developed a referral map for various situations that arise in family forms of upbringing in accordance with the available resources of the community.
Based on the results of the training, the participants identified the main advantages of the redirect map, namely:
- Improving the quality of social work. Thanks to organized and structured information, specialists can provide better and more timely support.
- Reducing the burden on services. A clear redirection mechanism will allow for more efficient use of available resources.
- Strengthening cooperation. The map will help establish interaction between various organizations, institutions, and services operating in the community.
