Since the beginning of the firearms declaration procedure, citizens have contacted the Weapons Control Sector of the Chuguiv District Police Department and declared 32 weapons and 1,280 rounds of ammunition. Of these, 13 assault rifles, a pistol, 4 carbines, and 14 smoothbore weapons.
Law enforcement officers remind: citizens who have found or received firearms and ammunition and plan to store and use them legally should call the special line "102" or contact the nearest police station to declare such weapons. Such weapons can also be voluntarily surrendered to police units.
Declaring found, acquired, or received weapons, regardless of whether they are automatic, semi-automatic, or smooth-bore, provides grounds not to hold citizens accountable and establishes the possibility of legally storing them until the end of martial law.
To declare a weapon, you must have a package of documents with you: a written application; passport; identification code; certificate of residence/registration; 3.5x4.5 photo.
Specialists of the licensing service will inspect the weapon, record it, and issue the owner with an appropriate document confirming the declaration of the weapon. After the declaration procedure, the police return the weapon to the declarant.
