Born on December 10, 1976 in the city of Kemerovo, Russian Federation. There he graduated from high school and Kemerovo College, majoring in Law.

In the early nineties, Valery, together with his parents, moved to Ukraine and lived first in the city of Pervomaisk, Luhansk region, where he worked at the Pervomaisk Electromechanical Plant, and studied in absentia in the city of Alchevsk, Luhansk region, at the Donbas Mining and Metallurgical Institute, majoring in law. He graduated in 1999.

He served his military service from December 1994 to July 1996 in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region. After completing his military service, he returned to work at the plant, and later, until 1998, he worked in the units of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the city of Pervomaisk.

Having moved to the Poltava region, he settled in the village of Dykanka. Returning to the city of Pervomaisk in 2012, he worked at the Pervomaisk Electromechanical Plant.

In 2013, Valery moved to the city of Chuguiv and worked for some time at the Elektorovazhmash plant, and then in the city of Chuguiv in private companies. His work history also shows that for more than five years he served in the internal affairs bodies of Ukraine in the committee for combating corruption and organized crime.

У 2013 році Валерій переїхав до міста Чугуїв і працював деякий час на заводі «Електороважмаш», а потім в місті Чугуїв в приватних фірмах. В його трудовій діяльності також значиться, що понад п’ять років він проходив службу в органах внутрішніх справ України в комітеті по боротьбі з корупцією та організованою злочинністю.

On March 16, 2022, through the Kharkiv RTCC and the Kharkiv Joint Military District, he voluntarily went to defend the Motherland as part of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. Valery Kurylo served as a mortar platoon driver of the fire support company of the reconnaissance battalion of the military unit of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Kosh Ataman Ivan Sirko. According to his comrades, officially holding the position of mortar platoon driver, Valery successfully performed the work of any of the brothers in the mortar crew, was a model of courage, a true patriot and a devoted defender of Ukraine.

On November 14, 2022, while performing a combat mission as part of a unit in the area of the city of Svatove, Valery was seriously injured. After treatment in a military hospital, he returned to the unit and, together with his comrades, continued to defend the Motherland.

Marital status:

His mother died, his father and brother live outside the city of Chuguiv, Soymin's wife Kateryna Anatoliivna lives in the city of Chuguiv. Valery is survived by three sons: Danylo, born in 2011, lives in the Poltava region, Kyrylo, born in 2015, and Stanislav, born in 2017, live in the city of Chuguiv.

Circumstances of death:

Valeriy Kurylo died on November 9, 2024, while performing his official duties to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, while performing a combat mission as part of a unit in the area of the settlement of Glyboke, Kharkiv district, Kharkiv region.

On November 13, 2024, Valery Kuryl was buried with military honors in the city of Chugui on the Alley of Memory.

Valery had many awards. Among them is the state award: the medal "Defender of the Fatherland" (Decree of the President of Ukraine dated January 27, 2023 No. 49) and the medal "For Wounding (severe)" (Order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine dated July 4, 2023 No. 826).
