On November 21, the final of the All-Ukrainian competition for modeling "smart" devices "STEAM House" took place in Kyiv. This competition, organized by the Foundation "Educational Initiatives Fund" and the State Educational Institution "Institute for Modernization of Educational Content" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, is a real educational holiday for students aged 12-17, in which children from all over Ukraine demonstrate their own developments, inventions and projects created according to the STEAM philosophy. The "4Real" team from the Chuguiv House of Children and Youth Creativity won the final of the competition in the nomination "Effective Technological Solution".
This year, the competition brought together not only the best student teams of inventors from all over Ukraine, but also representatives of leading global engineering firms, who are literally hunting for young talents.
The Chuguiv boys – Roman, Artem, Vlad and Mykyta – chose a topic that their current difficult life suggested to them – a project on street lighting control. Independently, sometimes ahead of the recommendations of the competition consultants, they created a working model of economical urban street lighting, taking into account the factors of the real state of the energy sector in the country.
The winning team of young inventors was met by the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva.
– The enthusiasm and determination of our young inventors inspire great respect. I dream that these wonderful guys, and with them hundreds of equally talented children of our community, after receiving their education, will return home and find application for their talents here, – noted Galina Minaeva. – I sincerely thank the boys’ parents for raising true geniuses, and the director of our house of children’s and youth creativity, Victoria Miroshnikova, and cultural organizer Olga Stepnykh for creating conditions for revealing the talents of our children.
