Born on September 14, 2002 in the city of Chuguiev. From 2009 to 2018, he studied at Chuguiev Preschool Educational Institution - Comprehensive School No. 8. After graduating from school, he studied at Chuguiev Vocational and Technical School No. 53, specializing in tractor driver. He worked in one of the branches of the Ukrainian private company Nova Poshta.
On November 16, 2022, he was drafted into the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in Kyiv in the National Guard of Ukraine, as part of the 27th Pechersk Brigade. Then he signed a contract and was sent to the unit of this brigade, which performed combat missions in the Kupyansk direction. He performed combat missions as an operator of the 1st anti-tank guided missile detachment of the 1st anti-tank guided missile platoon of the anti-tank guided missile company of the combat support battalion of the 27th Pechersk Brigade.

Oleg is survived by his mother, Tetyana Cherkashina, and two aunts.
Circumstances of death:
04.09.2024 Oleg and his comrades came under heavy enemy fire. Having received varying degrees of injuries, the soldiers began to retreat. Oleg returned for his seriously wounded comrade and died with him from enemy fire. Initially, Oleg was considered missing, and his mother received a notification that her son was considered missing. Only in October 2024 was his body found and transferred for burial. The farewell ceremony took place on October 8, 2024. The hero was buried on the Alley of Memory at the new cemetery in the city of Chuguiv.
