Purpose of the Competition:
highlighting achievements in the issues of placement and upbringing of children in foster families, foster families, and family-type orphanages.
development, disclosure of abilities, social rehabilitation of children raised in foster families, foster families, and family-type orphanages;
exchange of experience;
drawing the attention of enterprises, institutions, organizations, charitable foundations, and the public to foster families, foster families, and family-type orphanages.
The competition is held in accordance with the Regulations on the regional annual competition "The Best by Vocation", approved by the decision of the Kharkiv Regional Council dated June 27, 2024 No. 864-VIII.
The Competition is open to foster families, foster families, and family-type orphanages operating in the Kharkiv region.
The competition is held in the following categories:
– «Family-type orphanage»;
– «Foster family»;
– «Foster family».
The Competition is planned to be held in two rounds:
First round – district – for foster families, foster families and family-type orphanages operating in the Kharkiv region;
Round 2 – regional – for the winners of the 1st (district) round of the Competition.
Participants who, within the last three years preceding the year of the Competition, have been held liable in accordance with the procedure established by law for evading the fulfillment of obligations stipulated by law to ensure the necessary living conditions, education and upbringing of minor children are not allowed to participate in the Competition.
To participate in the 1st (district) round of the Competition, participants must submit an application (in any form) with attachments by e-mail to the Competition Commissions established by district state (military) administrations no later than 10/31/2024.
The application is accompanied by a presentation (made in Microsoft Power Point, the presentation volume is up to 15 slides in electronic form), which indicates information about the Contest participant in the following areas:
– motivational complexes and values that prompted the creation of a foster family, a foster care family, and a family-type orphanage;
– number of children placed in a family;
– experience raising a child with special needs (if available);
– social adaptation of children (practical experience);
– the health status of children;
– development of creative abilities in children, taking into account their needs and capabilities (development of each child's talents, attendance at extracurricular educational institutions according to interests, abilities and inclinations, participation in competitions, exhibitions, etc.);
– children's academic success (participation in subject Olympiads, competitions);
– children's sporting achievements and successes (participation in competitions of various levels and directions;
– maintaining relationships with alumni families;
– values and practices of family upbringing in the family (own experience, traditions);
– parents receiving additional education (pedagogical, psychological), mastering a foreign language(s), developing hobbies;
– family participation in community life.
Other materials may be provided with the application and presentation at the request of the Contest participant.
The Competition Commission reviews the materials of the Competition participants and evaluates them on a five-point scale for each of the areas.
The number of points scored by the participants of the Competition is determined by an open vote of the members of the Competition Commission.
The winner of the corresponding round of the Competition in each nomination is the participant who scored the highest total number of points.
Based on the results of the points scored, the Competition Commission determines the winners of the corresponding round of the Competition in each nomination, who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
The winners of the II (regional) round of the Competition in each nomination, who, by the decision of the Competition Commission, took I, II, III places, were awarded cash prizes in the amount of:
1st place – 50,000.00 UAH;
2nd place – 40,000.00 UAH;
3rd place – 30,000.00 UAH.
