Healthcare workers of the Chuhuiv community participated in the training: "Providing first aid and assistance during childbirth outside a medical facility in emergency situations", which was conducted by the public organization "Ukrainian Association of Midwives" with the support of the humanitarian organization Direct Relief and the Polish Association of Midwives Dobzhe Urodzeni.
The goal of this project is to ensure the capacity of community service workers to provide first aid and assistance during childbirth outside of a medical facility. It is aimed at the police service, medical workers without obstetric knowledge, the State Emergency Service, active volunteers, and community residents.
During the training, participants were provided with simple, easy, and accessible knowledge about how and what to do when a woman gives birth in emergency situations, and how and what kind of assistance she needs to be provided. Such skills are extremely important during war.
Upon completion of the training, the organizers, with the financial support of international partners, provided all communities whose participants participated in the training with kits for assisting in childbirth outside a medical facility and first aid kits for emergency situations, which included means to stop bleeding, tourniquets, soft stretchers, etc.
