Mercy Corps continues to accept applications and financial assistance to support businesses in the amount of $20,000 and expands to the Kharkiv region
Representatives of small and medium-sized businesses that have relocated to Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk regions, Kyiv and Kyiv regions, or local businesses affected by the war from the indicated regions can apply for financial assistance from the international humanitarian organization Mercy Corps within the framework of the competitive Program to Support Economic Resilience of Ukraine.
The main condition for receiving assistance is the creation or preservation of at least 3 jobs for IDPs or war-affected populations. Priority will be given to businesses that need funds to resume their activities.
«The Ukraine Economic Resilience Support Program will not only provide an opportunity for people affected by the war to open or rebuild their own businesses, but will also provide an impetus for the development of various business areas and the expansion of existing businesses. We hope that the program will make a positive contribution to the development of entrepreneurial initiatives, improving self-employment and increasing incomes in Ukrainian communities,» says Vicki Aken, Director of the Humanitarian Response Program of Mercy Corps in Ukraine.
The selection of participants will be carried out on a competitive basis. The average amount of financial assistance for the purchase of fixed assets will be 20,000 USD in hryvnia equivalent at the current exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine.
You can familiarize yourself with the program conditions, participant selection criteria, and submit an online application for participation on the website uerp.mercycorps.org.

Mercy Corps is an international humanitarian organization operating in more than 40 countries around the world. We provide assistance to people suffering from disasters, wars, poverty, and the effects of climate change.
Working with local and national NGOs, Mercy Corps has supported more than 750,000 people in Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, and Romania who have been affected by the outbreak of full-scale war. We provide cash assistance, food, hygiene and construction kits, psychological support, grants for micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, including in agriculture, and we conduct information campaigns to expand these opportunities.
It is implemented with the financial support of Switzerland, provided through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The Swiss International Cooperation Programme has been actively working in Ukraine since the 1990s. Back in 1999, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) opened a cooperation office in Kyiv together with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and resumed humanitarian assistance in 2014, targeting mainly the conflict-affected eastern regions of Ukraine. Since the start of Russia's full-scale military aggression against Ukraine on 24 February 2022, Swiss humanitarian assistance in Ukraine has been responding to significant needs in terms of food security, protection of victims and their rights, holistic approaches to health, and ensuring adequate standards of water and sanitation. This assistance is fully consistent with the existing Swiss cooperation programme in Ukraine. Where possible, SDC cooperates with the Peace and Human Rights Division and SECO to achieve joint results (triple synergy – nexus). Currently, assistance is geographically concentrated in areas with a large number of displaced people and near the front line. In 2022, Switzerland spent around 270 million Swiss francs in Ukraine and neighboring countries, as part of international cooperation and other measures, to support people affected by the war.
