June 22 – Day of Mourning and Commemoration of the Victims of the War in Ukraine

Address by the Head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva

Dear fellow countrymen!

Today we celebrate the Day of Mourning and Commemoration of the Victims of War in Ukraine. This is a special day that reminds us of the terrible events of World War II and the heroic deeds of our ancestors. We honor the memory of all who gave their lives in the fight for their homeland, who suffered from the hardships of war.

Today, as then, Ukraine is once again experiencing difficult times of war. The enemy is once again trying to break our spirit, to take away our freedom and independence. But we, like our ancestors, stand in defense of our land, our families, our values.

By laying flowers at monuments and memorials, we express our gratitude and respect to those who defended and continue to defend our country. Their courage and self-sacrifice are an example of indomitable spirit and patriotism for us. We believe in our victory and do everything possible to bring it closer.

It is our duty to remember those who died in past wars and to support those who are currently on the front lines. We must do everything we can to ensure peace and security for our children and grandchildren, so that they can live in a world without war.

Let us bow our heads in sorrow and honor the memory of all who died in that terrible war, and all who are now fighting for our future. May their feat become for us an example of courage, patriotism, and indomitable spirit.

Eternal memory to the Heroes of the past and the Heroes of the present. Glory to Ukraine!
