Oleksandr Andriyovych Chirva was born on December 23, 2004 in the village of Shevchenkove, Kupyansky district, Kharkiv region.
He studied at the Shevchenko Lyceum of the Shevchenko Village Council of the Kupyansky District of the Kharkiv Region. Already at a young age he was distinguished by responsibility, perseverance and purposefulness. After graduating from 8 grades, Oleksandr consciously chose the military path for himself, because from an early age he sought to devote himself to serving Ukraine and protecting its independence.
To fulfill his dream, he continued his studies in the city of Kharkiv, entering the Municipal Institution «Kharkiv Lyceum with Enhanced Military and Physical Training “Law Enforcement Officer”. It was there that his character was tempered, leadership qualities, discipline, and endurance were formed – traits that became the basis of his future officer service.
Admission to the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine became for Oleksandr a confirmation of his determination and devotion to the chosen path. The closest people tried to protect him from a difficult military fate, convinced him to give preference to another direction, because they understood all the difficulties and dangers of the chosen profession. But the love for Ukraine and the desire to become an officer turned out to be stronger than any doubts. He did not give up on his goal and confidently made a choice, to which he remained faithful until the last day.
On January 20, 2026, Alexander married his beloved Margarita. They were young, full of plans and dreams. They saw a long life together, their own home, children, and a peaceful future ahead.
The happiness of the young family lasted only six months. During this time, they were able to be together for only fourteen days. The rest of the time was taken up by service, training, combat missions, and war. They lived from meeting to meeting, appreciating every moment spent together. No one could have imagined that these fourteen days would become their entire family life. The war took away not only the young officer, but also the future they had dreamed of so much.
On March 26, 2026, Oleksandr completed his studies at the academy, receiving his first officer rank of lieutenant. He was appointed commander of the grenade launcher fire support platoon of the 1st operational battalion of the 13th operational brigade "Charter".
As of July 2026, the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Charter" was performing combat missions in the Kharkiv region. It held defense lines and conducted combat operations in the border areas of the region (in particular, in the north of the Kharkiv region, including the areas of the settlement of Lyptsy, as well as in the Kupyansk direction).
Circumstances of death:
On June 15, 2026, Oleksandr was sent to the front line, where he honorably performed the tasks assigned to him as an officer of the National Guard of Ukraine. It was in the Kupyansk direction, near the settlement of Kupyansk, that the platoon commanded by Oleksandr Chirva, on July 8, 2026, performed a combat mission. His platoon came under artillery fire. The platoon commander Oleksandr Chirva received injuries incompatible with life. he was only 21 years old. He was supposed to have a whole life ahead of him - years of happiness, professional achievements, family comfort and the fulfillment of dreams. However, the war mercilessly cut short his youth.
Given the difficult security situation that developed in the territory of the Shevchenkivsk settlement territorial community, and the appeal of the head of the settlement military administration, the Defender was buried in the city of Chuhuiv on the Alley of Memory on July 14, 2026.
The defender is survived by his father, mother, sister, wife, and nephews.
The most painful thing is the realization that the young wife became a widow so quickly, the parents lost their son, the sister lost her brother, the friends lost their faithful companion. All their shared dreams remained unfulfilled.
With his life and feat, Oleksandr Andriyovych Chirva, like many defenders of Ukraine who died in this war, forever inscribed his name in the history of the Ukrainian people's struggle for freedom and independence. His courage, honor, and self-sacrifice will forever remain an example of true love for the Motherland.
